Paxton Church and Charity Accounting Software

About Paxton

We believe that the Church Accounting Software or Charity Accounting Software you choose should remove stress – not add it. Our Accounting software has been designed especially for churches & charities, rather than trying to adapt and amend generic accountancy software like many other products on the market. We understand exactly what you need and provide all the things, all in one place, with fast, friendly support to back it up.

Paxton Church and Charity Accounting Software is built and maintained in-house by Gareth – our Head of Software Development – and there’s nothing our Head of Customer Support, Eve, doesn’t know about our products in order to answer any question you may have about how to use them.

Gareth and Eve work side-by-side with Darren, our Accountant & Head of Independent Examiners, and our superb support and sales team Donna and Shelena, and we ensure that everyone who works with us knows our products inside and out and our customers can contact a real person for advice, support or guidance when they need to.

We’re a ‘family first’ business – we’re real people, with real families and ‘real life’ worries that serve as our drive and motivation to do better, just like the people and communities we serve. That’s why we’ve been trusted and recommended for over 40 years and why we invest so much time and money in continually improving the software and service we provide to make it the definitive accountancy solution.

Charity or commercial software?

One of the key differences between commercial accounting and charity accounting is the necessity for charitable organisations to keep track of multiple funds. Monies raised for a specific purpose, for example a special programme or event, need to be seen to be used for that objective. When it comes to Charity accounting requirements, we know what we’re talking about. Have a look at our in-depth article about the key differences and why the software you choose matters.

Before using Paxton, we were using paper books. We decided to buy Paxton after reviewing the market and recommendations from existing users. Since moving to Paxton, we have much better analysis. We have reduced our paperwork, and no longer need to analyse the accounts manually.

We have used Paxton software for our church accounts for the last six years and it does exactly what we want it to do. In particular, it copes well with our large number of “funds”, around twenty, and I can always find out where the money is.

The gift aid reports are extremely helpful, and others can be set up to be downloaded. As a non book keeper by trade, I find it intuitive and it doesn’t “hide” money where I cant find it. We have found the support very accessible and helpful, always there to guide us through a difficulty.

Saves accounting time – it makes answering questions easier and it formats reports according to the latest SORP.

Simple, stress-free software.

As a small charity, Paxton Software provides exactly what we need for day-to-day, year end and all points in between.

Gift Aid reclaims are easier, complete and more accurate.  Funders appreciate that we have a serious financial system in place.

Paxton support line is probably the best I have ever experienced across many platforms of software I have previously used.
